5 ways to give back this holiday season

While we wish every season brought the charitable energy that the holidays do, we're happy to see the world glow up to close out the year. Everyone with the means seems to elevate their charitability during the holiday season, and Delray Beach residents are no exception! From volunteering to monetary donations, here are five ways Delray Beach residents can give back this fall and winter.

turkey drive

The Paul Colson Foundation Annual Turkey Drive

On Saturday, November 19th, the Paul Colson Foundation will celebrate its annual turkey drive, giving free turkeys away to those in our community most in need. The turkeys are given on a first-come, first-served basis, with no registration needed. Visit Sara Sims Park in Boynton Beach. The Paul Colson Foundation was created to raise awareness for minority communities facing economic and social struggles. The Turkey Drive is a great way to kick off the holiday giving! Visit them online to learn about more events and ways to support the Foundation.

beach cleanup

Delray Beach Cleanups

Numerous organizations, including 4Ocean, The Delray Beach DDA, and the Clean Ocean And Sands Team (C.O.A.S.T), have hosted their own Delray Beach cleanups. As of this writing, Hurricane Nicole recently passed our beaches, and while a small and non-threatening storm still left trash strewn about the beach. The best part about a beach cleanup is you don't need a prompt, sponsor, or even a partner! Just get out there, get picking, and make our beautiful beaches that much brighter.

love delray charity drive

Love Delray

Love Delray is a quarterly volunteer initiative sponsored and supported by the Rotary Club of Delray Beach. On Saturday, November 19th, the organization will hold its final gathering of 2022, where supporters can choose from a variety of initiatives to work on. Whether helping with the 4Kids Foster Home to decorate for the holidays, writing holiday cards to community service workers, or supporting our veterans through Forgotten Soldiers, the Love Delray group always has something that will resonate with you, and spur action.

toy drive

Delray Beach Holiday Toy Drive

This one is quite simple. It's a toy drive! So many of us were blessed to wake up Christmas morning (or whatever holiday you celebrate) to fresh food, warm cocoa, and gifts under the tree. For those less fortunate, it's time to give back. Organized by the 4Kids Palm Beach, collection dates will begin on November 14th and end on December 5th, between 10 AM to 3 PM. pappy & beef

Pappy & Beef For Selfless Love

The Warren American Whiskey Kitchen, a relatively new and extremely popular fixture of West Delray Beach, is hosting a special event on Tuesday, November 15th from 7 PM to 10 PM. The Red Meat Lovers Club will gather in support of The Selfless Love Foundation, with tickets ranging from $50 to $6,500! Making this more of a gala than a charity drive. Guests will enjoy rare and upscale cuts of beef, Montecristo Cigars, and the finest selection of Buffalo Trace Whiskeys. For the top tier, guests will receive, among several special perks, an ounce of the extremely valuable Pappy Van Winkle in a custom-etched glass - a name every whiskey aficionado will know and revere.
