Our Delray Beach Real Estate blog continues to grow in scope, and with it the need to encapsulate all that the Downtown District has to offer. On most notable holidays, most recently with Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day, the city showcases numerous family-friendly events and gatherings with the aim of connecting neighbors and getting people on their feet. This year's festivities reflect the growth and expansion of the public events and social opportunities the city has aimed to build. Read on and set your plans for a riveting July in Delray Beach!

Downtown Delray Beach July 4th Festival and Fireworks - Event Itinerary

Events will include a live performance by The Resolvers, a big band reggae group playing many of our favorite tunes and Midsummer jams as the perfect backdrop to the festivities. The A1A main stage will begin with a set by DJ Big Smile, alternating multiple sets with The Resolvers, yielding for fireworks at 9 PM. In addition, yard games and kids activities will be present, along with glitter tattoos, face painters, food vendors, and local businesses showcasing many of their best products, services, and delicious food!

4's on the 4th Volleyball Tournament - 8 AM - 12 PM

The return of the classic 4's on the 4th beach volleyball tournament is set to kick off bright and early on the southern end of the municipal beach. Just off Casuarina Road, notably nearby communities, for reference include 1625 Ocean and Casuarina Villas, among many others.

Snorkel The Delray Wreck (S.S. Inchulva) - 9 AM  - 1 PM 

For a limited few participants, the Downtown Development Authority and Delray's best aquatic professionals will take snorkelers 150 yards offshore to the site of the S.S. Inchulva, better known as The Delray Wreck. Sunk during a 1903 Hurricane, the Delray Wreck is now a popular dive site for scuba and snorkel enthusiasts, commemorated by a plaque on the streetside nearby. Learn more by visiting their website!

60 Foot Flag Raising Ceremony - 6 PM

The evening festivities kick off on a solemn yet celebratory note, where the 60-foot U.S. flag will be hoisted during a special rendition of the National Anthem. From there, it's party on!

Fireworks Finale - 9 PM

To cap things off,  as with all July 4th events, the city of Delray Beach will employ a beautiful 20-minute display of fireworks over the oceanfront to celebrate another year of freedom! After more than 50 years of July 4th revelry across Delray Beach, the 2024 edition of Independence Day is sure to be one of the best ever!

Getting There And Parking

Public parking is available across Atlantic Avenue, but very limited. Any nearby Downtown and East Delray Beach residents are encouraged to walk or ride their bicycles. A bike valet will be organized and staffed by the city, providing a simple and secure solution for the many bicycle riders set to enter downtown. FreeBee golf cart rides are also available throughout downtown and can be contacted via the accompanying app.
