This Friday, August 10, 2018, Delray Beach’s Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens will provide the public with the rare opportunity to stroll & explore their breathtaking gardens at sunset during their unique Sushi & Stroll event. The gardens are usually only open to the public during daylight hours, however, the Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens will remain open for this remarkable evening event which will run from 5:30-8:30 pm. In addition to experiencing a leisurely sunset stroll through the six distinct Japanese-inspired gardens, Morikami’s Sushi & Stroll event will feature delicious food & beverages, unique games, shopping, and traditional Japanese music, all the makings of a perfect South Florida Summer night!
Guests will experience the cultural sounds of authentic taiko drumming by Fushu Daiko, South Florida’s original taiko drumming group. There will be multiple drumming performances throughout the evening, with show times at 6:30 pm, 7:15 pm, and 8:00 pm. Tickets for taiko drumming seating are $3 each, and will be available for purchase beginning at 5:30 pm at the event on a first come first served basis. Premium Japanese sake & ice cold beer will be available for purchase, as well as Pan-Asian cuisine from the Morikami’s Cornell Cafe and the visiting food trucks. The event will also offer family-friendly activities & games, including bean bag toss & giant Jenga, which will be located at Sunset Square. Though the museum galleries will be closed during the Sushi & Stroll event, attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in a bit of shopping at the Museum store, which offers a variety of one-of-a-kind Pan-Asian inspired items and gifts.
The Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens is located 4000 Morikami Park Road, Delray Beach, FL 33446. Sushi & Stroll advance purchase tickets are $7 for adults (ages 11+) and $5 for children (ages 4-10). Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door, priced at $8 for adults and $6 for children. The event is FREE for museum members and children ages 3 and under. Sushi & Stroll is a rain or shine events and tickets are non-refundable.
